As activities buildup ahead of the
2016 Edo State governorship election, the political atmosphere in the
State was again heighten with the state chairman
of the People Democratic Party PDP, Chief Dan Orbih openly accusing the
governorship candidate of the All Progressive Congress APC Mr Godwin Obaseki of
doctoring his SSCE result to gain admission in the University of Ibadan where he studied statistics. In a press
conference yesterday in Benin City, Chief Dan Orbih told a large crowd of party
faithful and media personnel that Mr
Godwin Obaseki had only three credit in
his SSCE result and that the governorship aspirant did not even make economics in
his SSCE result and express wonder on how he smuggled himself into the
University of Ibadan.
The PDP state chairperson, frown at the
fraudulent antic of Godwin Obaseki who will go any lent to cover his tracks. He
reiterated his party earlier stand that Mr Godwin Obaseki has nothing to offer
Edo State except for his imaginary and illusionary record of accomplishment as
the chairperson of a nonexistent economic team.
He further urged Edo people to stand up against the exploitative
policies of the APC led government in the state as well as mobilize to vote out
the APC in the forth-coming election,
In a swift reaction, the
publicity secretary of the All Progressive Congress Comrade Godwin Erahon
debunked the allegation as diversionary and challenged the Peoples Democratic
Party to write a formal petition to the police and the said University of
Ibadan if they have enough proof to substantiate their allegation. Comrade
Godwin Erahon who described the state chairperson of the PDP as an intimidated
jester, also wondered why the PDP has restricted themselves to the podium
instead of writing a formal petition. He chided the PDP for trying to weep up
cheap public sentiment through deceit and false propaganda and urged them to
start preparing themselves for their eventual defeat at the poll.
