Breaking News: EDHA throws away controversial Grazing Bill

Benin: Edo State House of Assembly has yesterday discarded the controversial Edo State Grazing Bill after receiving report of the joint committee.

SILNETNEWS gathered that the bill was thrown out due to public outcry.

Throwing away the grazing bill, following the consideration of the twelve findings and recommendation by the joint committee, the house said they adhered to the public outcry of the people of Edo state during the public hearing.

The Speaker, Doctor Justin Okonoboh while explaining the reason for discontinuing the grazing bill, said the House will device another ways of putting checks  to the allege nefarious activities of herdsmen in the state.

Some members also expressed reservation over the dead bill.

Meanwhile the legislative arm has given second reading to a bill for a law to provide for the establishment of the Edo State small town and rural water supply and sanitation agency.

The motion which was raised by the majority leader, Folly Ogendegbe analyzed the benefits of the bill to rural dwellers.


The speaker Justin Okonoboh commended the bill and expressed satisfaction over its intention.
